WordPress Manager is accessible from within DirectAdmin under the Extra Features or Softaculous section, and it automatically detects all WordPress installations on your hosting account, whether they were installed via Softaculous or manually uploaded.

WordPress Manager consolidates every day-to-day WordPress management task into a single interface. Here is what it can do:

Once you are satisfied with your changes on the staging site, you can migrate them to the live site manually or use a migration plugin.

Resetting WordPress Admin Password

If you have lost access to a WordPress site's admin panel and cannot recover the password through the standard "Forgot Password" email process (perhaps the email is not working), WordPress Manager provides a password reset tool that works at the database level. Select the site, click Reset Admin Password, enter a new password, and save. This change is applied directly to the database — no email confirmation required.

Installing WordPress via One-Click in WordPress Manager

WordPress Manager makes setting up a new WordPress site straightforward. You do not need to manually create a database, upload WordPress files via FTP, or run the famous five-minute install. The entire process is handled for you:

1. Open WordPress Manager and click Install at the top of the page.
2. Select the Protocol — choose https:// if you have an SSL certificate installed on the domain.
3. Choose the Domain from the dropdown list of domains on your account.
4. Set the In Directory field if you want to install WordPress in a subdirectory (for example, /blog). Leave it blank to install at the root of the domain.
5. Enter your site name, admin username, admin email, and a strong admin password.
6. Select a starter theme or leave the default.
7. Click Install. The installation completes in about one to two minutes.

Once the installation is complete, Softaculous sends a confirmation email with your WordPress admin URL and login details. The new site will also appear in the WordPress Manager list immediately, ready for future management.

Checking WordPress Health Status

WordPress Manager includes a health status indicator for each installation. This checks factors like whether WordPress is up to date, whether any known vulnerable plugins are installed, and whether the site configuration meets recommended security standards. Resetting an Admin Password When You Are Locked Out

If you are locked out of a WordPress site and the standard password reset email is not working — perhaps the site's email configuration is broken — WordPress Manager provides an alternative recovery method. This works at the database level and does not require email access:

1. Open WordPress Manager in DirectAdmin and locate the site you are locked out of.
2. Click the Manage icon next to the site.
3. Find the Reset Admin Password section or navigate to the Users tab.
4. Select the admin username you want to reset.
5. Enter a new strong password (a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols).
6. Click Reset or Save.

The new password takes effect immediately. You can log in to the WordPress dashboard right away with the new credentials, with no email verification step required.
